Gothic Open Tracery
This panel depicting a basket of fruit illustrating a message of welcome and wealth in the gothic age of English opulence.
We are proud to offer an early 19th century English gothic open tracery, carved from oak and double sided. This rare example of English craftsmanship was recently uncovered in an English estate barn where it was attached to a wrought iron 8ft tall cast metal gate. This panel was the centre piece to this gate which was falling apart and would have originally been displayed at the entrance of the manor drive as you approached the main building on the estate. A wonderfully naturally aged and weathered example which would make an exquisite wall hanging or interior design feature.
