A beautiful easily placed piece of sculptural English folk art.
We are proud to offer a highly decorative and authentic working example of a carved wooden early 20th Century English decoy goose. Exceptionally made from sectioned wood and hand painted detail, this example would have been produced to sit along a riverside to attract other geese to be hunted. This folk-art example has been hand carved, the original paint has obviously weathered and faded over the years, with natural wood splits in areas across this example we feel this just adds to its highly decorative quality and authenticity.
Size in inches: H 7” x W 21” x D 9”
This item is completely solid in structure and form, an aged patina across this items surfaces has taken place. Aged repair to the undersection is present also, but does not affect its form, stability or look in any way. The paint has faded as you would expect from an item of its nature, the beak section shows signs of age old wood worm. The splits in the wood are all natural and due to the use and age of this 100 year of example. Close up photos have been supplied to illustrate these points so please observe carefully and propose questions to us if needed.
