Arm & Hammer

One thing is for sure, you won’t find another similar pair.

Description

A unique matched pair of metal mid-20th century Arm and Hammer factory trade sign lights.

These would have originally been placed outside the main factory gates of the Arm and Hammer factory in the USA. They are big and quirky, a real statement piece of lighting. With opaline glass shades in place and recently rewired to a UK 240v power output.

History: 1840s. It was the start of something bigger than either of them knew, but in 1846 brothers-in-law Dr. Austin Church and John Dwight began preparing bicarbonate of soda for commercial distribution. They proudly packaged this simple, yet versatile product by hand into paper bags in their first factory in the USA.
